21st CSM Suframe with Corvette C5 Suspension


Jig built 1/8" mild steel tubing. Direct bolt in replacement for 1967 - 1969 Camaro and 1968 - 1974 Nova gives you race car performance with fully adjustable caster, camber, and instant center. The Corvette C5 suspension with forged aluminum alloy components provides for significant weight savings over stock suspension or steel replacements.

Utilization of lower control arm eccentric washers allow for caster and camber changes and the upper control arm slotted inserts allow for adjustment of instant center. No matter what drivetrain you choose to run, your adjustability of instant center wil allow you to maximize your handling characteristics.

Stock ride height versions allow for utilization of stock sheet metal for small block Chevrolet and LS1 drivetrain. Stock ride height version with big block Chevrolet drivetrain necessitates some firewall and transmission tunnel modifications. The stock ride height low profile version utilizesa 2x3 rather then a 3x3 body mount frame rail to streamline the undercarriage of the car. We do not recommend lower profile version for high horsepower applications as some structural integrity is traded for aesthetics.

The drop version allows for a lowering of the body from 1 inch to 1 7/8 inch over the frame. This necessitates significant firewall, transmission tunnel, inner fender well modifications, and some restrictions on wheel and tire combinations on wheel and tire combinations.

A 16:1 ratio custom rack and pinion is utilized with the 21st CSM subframe as well as a custom Nascar swaybar setup. The Nascar swaybar allows for changes in swaybar diameter within minutes, for the ultimate in adustability.

Utilization of Corvette C5 suspension components necessitates utilizing at least 17 inch diameter wheel up front with a positive 58mm offset for accomodation of corvette style caliper. Be sure to speak with a 21st CSM technician before ordering a custom wheel. Wheels of 17x8.5 with a 6 7/8 inch backspace or 18x9.5 with 7 1/4 inch are possible. Tire aspect ratio plays a big part in clearance issues as well. The drop version of the frame requires the rolling of inner fender lip and will only accomodate a 18x8.5 with a 6 7/8 inch backspace and low profile tire.

We recommend QA1 coilover shocks. Their dual adjustable aluminum body shock truly isolates compression and rebound.

The Wilwood 6 piston Aluminum race caliper is a recommended upgrade to the 4 piston Corvette caliper for the ulmtimate in stopping power.
